We took a trip out to the lot this morning to see if any work had been done on the footings. When we got there, we noticed that some lumber had been dropped off, but nothing else had been started. The boys put on all their snow gear and had fun sliding down the dirt piles, and making tracks in the basement area.
When we got home, Todd had a message on his phone from the foundation contractor. He asked that Todd clear the snow out from the hole, so that there isn't too much moisture there for when they come to put the footings in on Monday. Todd ended up heading back out to the lot to start shovelling. Putting in the footings is rather dependant on the weather, so luckily it is supposed to be nice on Monday(14 degrees). Once the footings are in, the cribbing and rest of the foundation can be done in any weather, although hopefully it will be done in the next week (just me being optomistic!!!).

Foundation Update
We are supposed to have footings by the end of this week, so maybe by Sunday. The weather is hopefully going to cooperate, as it is supposed to be 14 degrees on Sunday and Monday. We ordered a container to store our materials in. It is 8' x 40', similiar in size to the cargo of a big truck trailer. We are going to store our windows, insulation, tools, and anything else that fits, in there until it is needed. Hopefully this will prevent weathering as well as some theft.

Showhome Pictures
Basement still Missing!!!!
No more news on when we will have a basement. We bumped the house package delivery back until Nov 9th--hopefully by then we will have a foundation to work with. The septic tank should be going in towards the end of this week, or early next week.
Todd had the opportunity to view our house while out in Toronto. Viceroy had a showhome next to where Todd was going for a meeting, and it just so happened to be the Cornell (our house model). It was the reverse plan, but mostly the same. One of Todd's associates took some pictures with his digital camera, and then sent them to Todd. Todd said he was quite impressed with the overall layout of the showhome--especially the great room with the rock fireplace!!!
We are still getting quotes coming in for plumbing/heating and drywall. We have lined up an electrican to get us temporary power, and then Henry (Dad H.) will be completing the inside work for us.
Todd bought the boys some toys from John Deere--Joshua got a "digging machine" and Jacob got a "dumper" truck. Both boys have spent endless hours loading up the dumper truck with the digger. Dad is now the favourite around our house!!!
