A few pics of the progress.

By the time the crew left this evening, they had the second beam up (on the left hand side), as well as the rafters over Jacob's room.

Looking at the back of the house. You can see where the one big beam is in place on the right hand side.

This shows the far east wall (baby's room) as well as part of the "games room".

This is the far west wall (Joshua's room).

This is part of baby's room, overlooking down to the office.

This is standing in Jacob's room (the north), looking at the baby's room to the left and part of the games room straight ahead.

Looking Good!!!

A lot of progress was made this weekend!!! Most of the second floor is framed in now, and two of the big beams were put into place. Pretty soon we will be ready for trusses on the main area of the house (a big job though!!!). Some of the second floor walls will need to be built once the trusses are in place, as the prints don't specify how tall they are supposed to be.
We received one quote back for kitchen cabinets. It was in the ball park, but we weren't 100% impressed with the design, so we are waiting to here back from the other local company we contacted. Once the baby is born, we are going to talk to a company in Lethbridge (Dayna and Mike used them for their cabinets), and another in Edmonton. At least with the quote we did get, it wasn't going to be 4-6 months before we had anything!!! They would have the cabinets ready in 8-10 weeks if need be.
We should have temporary power by the end of the week, assuming Fortis can get out to the area (they are usually out in the area every day, or so it seems!!!) We had the electrician in a couple of weeks ago to hook up the connection, but they were slow to get a permit. The permit has been taken out now, so we should have a copy of the number by Monday, which then means we can phone Enmax and get them to "switch" the power on, and then Fortis actually hooks it up.
We are hoping to be "locked-up" by the end of February, so that is quickly approaching. If the nice weather sticks around, we should make our deadline!!! (Everyone keep your fingers crossed!!!)
Thanks again to Todd, Dad L, Mom L, Nigel and Steve for all their help this weekend. It sure helps alot when we have a few extra people around!!!
